Activating your new GSM Phone

Phones have been manufactured to operate exclusively on Rogers' GSM/GPRS network. You can roam with your Rogers Wireless GSM phone in the U.S. and on GSM networks around the world.

Transfer your existing GSM service

Transfer your existing GSM service from an old GSM phone to your new GSM phone, by following these simple steps:

  1. Charge your battery.

    First charge and attach your phone's battery. Refer to your manufacturer's user manual for exact instructions (charge times may vary).

  2. Make sure that both phones are turned off.

  3. Remove the SIM Card from your old phone and install it in your new phone. Refer to your owner's manual if you need more help completing this step.

  4. Turn on your device.

  5. Now you're ready to start using your new GSM phone!

Set up a new service or transfer your TDMA service

To activate your phone*, please follow these simple steps:

  1. Charge your battery

    First charge and attach your phone's battery. Refer to your manufacturer's user manual for exact instructions (charge times may vary).

    Detach and insert your SIM Card.

  2. Choose your plan

    Check out Consumer Plans and Business Plans on rogers.com to find the plan that best fits your needs. We're also happy to help you with your choices when you call.

  3. Make sure you have the following information available to set-up your account:

    • Your phone's Serial Number (IMEI). To locate this number, remove the battery from the back of your phone. The number is located on the sticker on the back of the handset.

    • SIM Card number

  4. Activate

    Now you're ready to call Rogers Wireless at 1-877-462-2691 from your home or office touch-tone phone to activate your service.

Subscriber Identity Module Card. Also known as a "smart card". A tiny microchip containing subscriber information that is inserted into any GSM Device.
